A ful day excursion travelling along a stretch of the 224-kilometre Tratturo Magno, a route running from L’Aquila to Foggia, the largest and most important of the five Regi (Royal) Tratturi, the ancient roads of transhumance.  We continue inland to the Majella National Park, a well-known hiding place for brigands, to visit a famous castle, one of Abbruzzo’s most photographed locations since it is perched on a rocky spur with ravine sides, with the Majella “mother mountain” rising majestically in the background. We then return to the coast to San Vito Chietino.

After a lunch on the Trabocco, enjoying the fresh catch of the day, the tour includes a visit to Ortona and the imposing Aragonese Castle in a spectacular position overlooking the sea. From the east tower, participants can enjoy breath-taking views of the sea, encompassing a long stretch of the Trabocchi Coast.
