Travelling on a steamboat is not only an environmentally friendly experience, but also one that takes you back through time to the early 20th century. An on-board guide will evoke the Renaissance era and all its splendour. The boat has a small panoramic room on the upper deck, where there is also a restaurant. On the bottom deck, there are comfortable red leather lounges with fine wooden tables and armchairs to fully immerse you in a truly magical atmosphere.
The short cruise will end at a famous residence where guests will be accompanied by a guide, who will talk about art and botany.
The villa dates back to the 1600s and is elegant, understated, overlooking the lakeshore with Italian-style gardens.
Today, this building is the ideal place from which to admire a botanical and artistic cultural heritage unique to Lake Como. Two of the villa’s three floors can be visited, with works of art on display and rooms still furnished with the same splendour as times gone by. The view of the lake is truly superb and leaves you breathless.
Over the years, the villa has been enriched with priceless works, including paintings by Hayes and sculptures by Canova. One example is the Amore e Psiche (Cupid and Psyche) sculpture by Canova. The tour can start from Bellagio, Como or Varenna.
