A special visit on the evocative Como Lake.
Discover the fragrances of wood, passion for craftsmanship and art of creating unique models, the most famous boats in the world.
You will learn stories, anecdotes and some of the secrets of the area’s best-known shipwright, who was responsible for transforming what was a child’s dream into a major project, which he never would have believed could become a genuine environmental necessity: he was one of the first to motorise boats with small electric motors rather than the classic petrol outboard engines.
This is an itinerary that will introduce you to a profession – that of shipwrights – which could be defined as art.
After visiting the original 18th-century “sciostra” (workshop, where the boats were built), a short tour of Riva boats will follow.
